Around 18 months ago I was posting and raving on about the fastest production 4-cylinder car in the world, the Mercedes AMG A45. I was dismayed however with the price of this vehicle when it hit the Australian market, such was the demand for the car that those that managed to secure one were reselling it for $10k more than what they are worth. Most likely giving it a bit of a hammering first before selling it. I knew then that owning the A45 wouldn’t be practical choice for a family car.
We bought our first Audi in late 2013 and have quickly fallen in love with the Q7, putting aside the fairly huge financial outlay everything else about the car was a good fit for us. So after ticking off the “large family car” off the list, I can now dream again about owning a premium hot hatch but this time, it’s going to be about this….the new Audi RS3
The 2015 Audi RS3 Sportback quattro was revealed two weeks ago ahead of its European launch and we should see the Australian launch by the end of 2015.
This is the proper rival for the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG and BMW M135i, and sits at the very top of the A3 range. The new RS3 is a 2.5-litre TFSI five-cylinder turbo which outputs of 270kW and 465Nm of torque. This engine will catapult you from a standing start to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds Audi claims which is the fastest in its class.

This one is definitely on the bucket list.
