Whoever said buying a house is easy is either lying or they hired a buyer’s agent to do the leg work for them. Donna and I have been looking to purchase our first home for the last 7 months, although it has been exciting and at times thrilling it is also a very frustrating.
Just when you think you have found the house of your dreams, something or someone will come along and crush those dreams into tiny little pieces. When that happens all you want to do is give up and ask yourself what is the point. Buying a house can be compared to a relationship I suppose, you look around, you try to picture yourself coming home to it every day and you make a small investment in the hope of securing it long term. Then something happens or someone else gets in there pulls it all from under you. That’s the painful and disappointing part. There are also scenarios where, after further inspection, you realise that it’s going to be a lot of work and it is not as stable as you thought it was. The easiest for you to then is to just pull out and cut your losses. As easy as it is to just give up, like any failed relationships, you move on and most often than not, you will find the one that is meant to be for you.
