Spotlight on Greece will be the first Contiki Tour that we will be doing after leaving Macedonia after the wedding. I tried looking for reviews on this spotlight tour on the net and have yet to find one. Really looking forward to this tour, I'm sure it will be an eye-opener and I will actually get to see what I have only previously read in books or seen online.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Athens. Make your own way to the hotel and then the rest of the day is yours to take a sneak preview of Athens before meeting your Tour Manager and fellow travellers this evening at the hotel. After your meeting, maybe join us in the traditional Plaka area for dinner – a great way to kick off your tour!
Day 2 Athens to Olympia. We begin today with a sightseeing tour of Athens including the Acropolis and the Parthenon. Travelling westward, we pause at Corinth to view the impressive canal before arriving at the Palace of Agamemnon at Mycenae where you can walk through the Gate of the Lions and see the sinister beehive tomb. Our day's journey continues past the Acronafplion Citadel and ends in Olympia this evening. (B,D)
Day 3 Olympia to Delphi. This morning join our local guide as we visit the temples of Hera and Zeus and the site of the Olympic stadium where the games were first held in 776BC. Later, we cross the Corinthian Gulf and drive to Delphi, the sacred town of antiquity. (B,D)
Day 4 Delphi to Athens. Visit the site of Delphi, see the Temple of Apollo and the Treasury. A short drive to Athens where our tour ends this afternoon. (B)
