^^^The Event^^^
Meanwhile, NBC has axed The Event, but that may not be the end of the show. According to Deadline, “Talks are underway with at least one distribution partner to take over the serialised drama. The Event executive producer Steve Stark wouldn’t comment, but I hear new original programming player Netflix’s name tossed around. Word is that there has been interest from several cable and digital entities. Stark said that they are exploring the opportunities with the ‘full support’ of the studio, UMS. ‘NBC has been an amazing partner, it launched the show beautifully,’ he said. Added creator Nick Wauters: ‘We have a dedicated fan base, and we promised them we will deliver one way or another and will continue to tell our stories.’”
HUMAN TARGET, it had everything. Action, humor, intrigue, romance, drama, depth. It was great now I find out it’s been cancelled. It’s an outrage.Something pathetic like the Office, is still on. (Not your network). So many useless shows. Two and half men. No way it will work w/o Charlie Sheen. Yes he was an ass, but he made it work because he lived what his character was about. I was looking forward to seeing the program.
Hi Rachel,
thanks for your comments! 🙂
there has been a lot of shows that has been axed over the years that are really good and it makes me wonder who makes the decisions and based on what ratings.
I think the tv culture has changed and since shows can be delivered on demand, not to mention “downloaded” it makes it hard to gauge exactly how popular a show really is.

I loved Human Target and a lot of other shows that have been cancelled. I’m afraid to start watching anything new this year because the networks seem to cancel them before they even get a chance. NETWORKS maybe you are checking the wrong place for your ratings.

Rubicon actually made you have to think. What American audience wants to have to do that? Was one of the best in many years.

Human Target, Detroit 187, The Defenders. Examples of what is wrong with TV. These were fun shows, good characters, and better than many I am sure that will replace them. No wonder I am giving up on network TV.

Rubicon was excellent — great writing and acting. PLEASE BRING THAT ONE BACK!!! They always cancel the shows I like and renew the mundane. Chicago Code, Human Target, Dark Blue, The Good Guys, Lie to Me….. all good shows worthy of keeping. It’s a shame because the networks have made some great pilots over the last few years but don’t give the shows much of a chance to make it by word of mouth. I am a diehard Seinfeld (the show) fan but even that first season was a little rough before the cast got their timing down. I guess we will be stuck with more brain dead reality shows and the inevitable new releases of CSI Poughkeepsie, CSI Chattanooga, and CSI Little Rock……….

Shocked about Detriot 1-8-7, but the rest I could see them dying. Now looking at the new shows, how many times are we going to see a show about high school kids with demonic powers? If network TV wants that type of audience, fine. I just want a show about demonic characters from all aspects like ghost, demons, witches and warlocks, vamps, werewolves, and the devil himself, with the other side like angels, fairies, spirits, and God fighting them. Something like Supernaturals, but deeper and somewhat believable.

Brothers&Sisters was awsome. I loved the show and i really hate to see such a realistic family dhow be cancelled and replaced by a show set back 30 plus years ago (Panam),
It figures. If I really like a show, it gets cancelled. LIe to Me, The Defenders, The Chicago Code, The Good Guys, and especially Chase were all favorites of mine. Why don’t they get rid of some of the so-called reality shows? There’s way too many of them. I’m about ready to give up on watching TV shows!

Now days they do not give the show enough time to even get viewers interested!!! Give them a chance. I love A Gifted Man and Detroit 1-8-7

They sure do know how to get rid of some good shows and keep the crappy ones.
I’d rather go blind than watch any reality show…the worse of which is “dancing with the stars.”
Who give a *$*# about folks dancing and sing who really can’t do either?
Top Modeling, Racing around the globe…all nonsense shows with no redeeming
qualities that I can see.
I’ll take the worse cop show any day over any of those shows.
What a huge waste of time, money and energy for some of the shows that’s put and kept on.

I am so sick and tired of the main networks destroying great shows. Lie to me, Human Target, Chicago Code, etc etc… all gone because some company somewhere seems to think there aren’t enough viewers. Ever wonder where they get those numbers? Cable boxes perhaps? Doesn’t count tv’s without one, or people with lives that watch it recorded on another device, or online days later… There are fan sites trying to save many of these shows. After Idol in early 2011 Breaking in premiered. It was hysterical and the only great comedy fox has put out in a long time. It got cancelled regardless of ratings. Strangely, THAT project I am told is coming back! There IS hope… albeit small.

I am happy to read that ‘The Event’ might continue. I wish Chaos would also be reconsidered as it had it all, action, humor, fun characters well cast. Think about it.

There is a simple solution to this issue… Dump Neilsen! It has been so long since they got anything right !!! Then we will be able to keep watching our TV shows. Neilsen’s time has come and gone. The Internet is here… what better way to find out what people like and want to view and in real time? We need to use our buying power or boycotting power with the advertisers and Neilsen ratings would be out of a job. Anyone agree or am I just stuck in the future?

Moe A, you’re so right… nielsons is such a joke, i was actually part of neilsons for my grocery shopping… i had to scan everything i purchased after i got home and then upload it to them… the biggest waste of my time ever,… they are so out dated its getting ridiculious. most ppl dont watch a show when its on its usual scheduled time…on demand, online, dvr, etc…
there needs to be a better way to gauge which shows are actually getting the viewers from all aspects not just cable boxes…im not gonna be able to handle another season where most of my fav shows get cancelled… pissed about so many cancellations… yet they keep dancing with the ‘stars’ and stupid tabloid shows like the insider and entertainment tonight… so at the end of my rope with network tv… and im a tv addict so this is a huge problem… lol

Sad day. they should at least come up with a website where people can sign their name as a petition for bringing back a show. They could even set the bar really high. Just the opportunity to do something about it with the chance that it will come back……
oh well. TV’s a waste of time anyway. Let’s all transition back to reading…

Am truly amazed when great shows are cancelled – DETROIT 1-8-7 was FANTASTIC. Great laughs in CHAOS. After two years am still coming to terms with the termination of LIFE!

I’m sad to see Off the Map is not returning. I really enjoyed that show. Also as a family we are upset that V is not returning. I don’t think Off the Map was given enough time to take hold for anyone….it had me hooked from the get go. I wish they would bring it back, it was an awesome show! Not to mention I’m already ticked about All my Children being cancelled and soon One Life to Live will be too. Pretty soon there won’t be anything left to watch except talk shows, food shows and reality tv. I think we have enough stupid reality shows already.
