I can’t believe I have not updated this website in more than six months. So much has happened since this the last update, I believe our tender revision was only up to Revision 5. Eventually the tender revisions made it to Revision 7 before we signed the contract.
Now I’m going to have to try and back track and lists all the major milestones since the previous update.
- 23/05/2021 – File released to the head office to prepare the building contract
- 01/07/2021 – Tender revised and slab changed from M to H1 after site classification report was completed.
- 17/07/2021 – Construction has been put on hold due to the restrictions in place by NSW Health.
- 22/07/2021 – Plans had been received with a few changes to the original tender one of which is the garage extension being denied due to the setback limitations. We’ve also been advised that a further 120mm has been reduced on the left hand side in order comply with the boundary set back.
- 18/08/2021 – 5% Deposit paid to Masterton Homes and contracts were signed.
- 30/09/2021 – DA LODGED – Our DA application was submitted to council and we have been moved along the process to be assigned a pre Construction Coordinator.
- 01/11/2021 – Flooring Appointment Completed
- 10/11/2021 – Kitchen Appointment with Artline Kitchens

It has been a long journey to get to where we are and it only feels like we’re about halfway through the entire process. What a time to be attempting to build a house especially with the current world health situation and the new strain setting all time highs in case numbers in NSW. Building a house is definately not for the faint hearted, it is stresseful but very exciting at the same time. An a huge amount of patience is required and the ability to work through roadblocks one might encounter. If ill prepared I think it has the potential to cause an enormous amount of financial strain.
