Happy Australia Day! I know it's a little late but anyways…
What an excellent weekend we've just had. Adam, Daniela, Donna and I just got back from the Hunter Valley yesterday and what a weekend it was. It was my first time at the Hunter Wine region, I'm not much of a wine drinker so I've never been interested in going but the girls wanted to go wine tasting so I thought why not.
This trip was booked about 2 months ago and I personally had been looking forward to it since I havent had a break since Donna and I went to the Gold Coast on our Anniversary.
We stayed at The Grand Mercure Apartments which is part of the The Vintage resort, the development is quite new and with Greg Norman's face all over the place there is no guessing who owns the place. Adam and I had a game of Tennis, bit of swimming and most importantly I finally got to test the waterproof feature of my Oympus 725w digital camera. It's actually pretty cool, I'll post the videos as soon as I finish uploading them. On friday night we dined at the Apres Restaurant which is inside the Vintage Golf Club.
Apres Restaurant
Providing contemporary Australian cuisine and with a menu that reflects the very nature of Hunter Valley style, Apres focuses on using only the very best local Hunter Valley produce fine dining excellence. Apres collected the award for Best Tourism Restaurant at the 2004 Restaurant & Catering New South Wales Regional Awards for Excellence. It also collected three awards at the Hunter Region Finals including the night’s main award of Restaurant of the Year.
After dinner we all went back to the Apartment, played a board game called Getaway and laughed at Daniela when she blew red wine out of her nose. Dont worry I have pictures.
That's all for now but I will update with pictures and complete review of what we did and places we visit while we were up there….Bye for now.
