Port Stephens

Donna and I needed a much needed break so we decided to head up north to Port Stephens for a weekend. Our baby is due to arrive in less than 3 months so this is our last chance to get away. I don’t think I’ve ever been to Port Stephens which is 2.5 hours north of where we live. I’m guessing this place is quite popular during the Summer season. Being winter it wasn’t really busy as you can imagine, but the weather was brilliant so it was enough to get the families out onto the foreshore of Nelson Bay.

There were plenty of beaches and plenty of places where one could observe the marine life such as whales and dolphins. Plenty of picnic areas and the main street of Nelson Bay have plenty of cafes and restaurants for those looking to just indulge. Speaking of restaurants, we tried a couple of the locals one of which is a Spanish restaurant called Casa De Oro.
